Hello everyone,
I recently sold my old Shimano Stradic Ci4+ 2500 to a young angler from the neighborhood at a good price. It's the older model that has the anti-reverse switch.
After fishing with it for a while, the following problem now occurs: Under load (i.e., when pulled), the anti-reverse no longer engages and the reel spins backwards – almost as if there were no brake.
I've never encountered this problem myself. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing it? Could it be hardened grease or dirt in the switch mechanism or the roller freewheel?
Thank you so much for your help!
