Da die Europazentrale von Shimano in Holland, genauer gesagt in Nunspeet liegt, war ich in letzter Zeit \u00f6fter mal ein paar Meter unterhalb des Meeresspiegels unterwegs. Unter den vielen Shimano-Mitarbeitern aus aller Herren L\u00e4nder, die ich dort getroffen habe, war auch Willem Stolk. Er arbeitet seit \u00fcber 15 Jahren als Consultant und Teamangler f\u00fcr die Firma. Viele von euch kennen ihn aus diversen Beitr\u00e4gen in deutschen Angel-Magazinen. In Holland ist er eine feste Gr\u00f6\u00dfe unter den Raubfisch-Cracks. Er hat sich einen Namen als Fachautor und Wettkampfangler gemacht. Nebenbei organisiert er auch die nationale Zandermeisterschaft (NKS).<\/p>\n

Mitte November haben wir uns zum ersten Mal beim Angeln getroffen und beschlossen, dass das nicht das letzte Mal war. Das freut mich nat\u00fcrlich sehr, weil es diese holl\u00e4ndischen Gew\u00e4sser in sich haben und weil Willem sich da bestens auskennt. Au\u00dferdem wird auch der Barsch-Alarm von meinen neuen Kontakten profitieren. Ein Blick \u00fcber die Grenzen ist auch immer ein Einblick in neue Herangehensweisen an unser Hobby. Weil Willem hier also immer mal wieder auftreten wird, gibt\u2019s erstmal ein Interview, in dem ihr den \u201eDude\u201c (so nennt ihn der Dustin) ein bisschen besser kennenlernt und ein bisschen was \u00fcber die Angelei da dr\u00fcben in den Niederlanden erfahrt.<\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Du bist Vollzeit-Angler und verdienst auch noch Geld damit. Das ist der Traumjob vieler Angler. Was machst Du denn so alles, um Deinen Lebensunterhalt zu verdienen?
\nWillem: <\/b>I fish from the age of 4 and start to fish matches since 15. During the year I won several matches and in 1997 I became Dutch National Champion Match Fishing. Then Shimano asked me to be a sponsored angler and then everything started. PublishingHouse asked me to start a new magazine 11 years ago and still I\u2019m doing this with pleasure. Within Shimano is slowly helped with projects and the biggest project was YASEI a few years ago. We organized Shimano Rapala Masters matches and several Product Camps. About 8 years ago I start doing guiding because people asked me. So, Shimano Pro Staff member, editor of Witvis Totaal, writing articles in European media, Guiding, and still do LEAN management projects \u2013 because this is what I studied. Working hard and have passion for angling will not make me a millionaire, but I\u2019m a happy person.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes:<\/b> Ich kenne das ja selber. Man muss schauen, dass man immer mal ein neues Projekt an Land zieht, mit dem man ein paar Euros verdienen kann. Manche klappen. Andere sind Flops. Was war denn dein gr\u00f6\u00dfer Flop?
\nWillem:<\/b> It is not so bad when something does not work \u2013 or became a flop. It is a learning process \u2013and an investment for future. Making mistakes is part of crowing up. Several articles for Wheels Boat Water, what I agreed with a German media, did not work. Why is not always clear. In new media content is important, but not al media are willing to pay for it.<\/i><\/p>\n

\"\"Johannes:<\/b> Und was hat richtig gut geklappt?
\nWillem: <\/b>The Guiding experience I offer is really good and together with product development it gives me input to improve products. So, win win situation for both Shimano and myself. Because I stay the same person and do not have any \u2018secrets\u2019 people from all over the world are willing to come over to Holland to fish with me. <\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Willem, wie kam es eigentlich dazu, dass Du bei Shimano gelandet bist?
\nWillem:<\/b> During the year I won several matches and in 1997 I became Dutch National Champion Match Fishing. Then Shimano asked me to be a sponsored angler and then everything started.<\/i>

\nJohannes: <\/b>Was hat Dich dazu bewogen, die NKS zu organisieren? Ist das nicht viel Stress?
\nWillem: <\/b>I think it is a responsibility, to do something without getting paid fort he fishing industry. During the years NKS is one of the biggest tournaments and is still growing. Naturally this is not always easy and we make mistakes also. But NKS is organizd for those who love fishing for Sander. It is not about the money, it is about honor.<\/i><\/p>\n

\"\"Johannes: <\/b>Bei den ganzen T\u00e4tigkeiten: Wie oft kommst Du zum Angeln?
\nWillem: <\/b>Three to four days a week minimum.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes:<\/b> Gibt\u2019s DEN Lieblingsfisch von Willem Stolk?
\nWillem: <\/b>I do not have a specific species. It is the period of the season and sometimes during a fishing day what is my favorite. I like to go out for predators: Aspius, Pike, Zander and Perch can be caught on the same day during june < > Oktober. After that it is more Pike, Sander and Perch. Nowadays predator fishing is changed a lot. Not only vertical fishing, but al kind of techniques can be used on one day.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Du hast ja viele Topgew\u00e4sser vor der Haust\u00fcre. Wann gehst Du wohin?
\nWillem: <\/b>I like to fish on big rivers with a lot of current, ships and waves. Rijn, Waal, Ijssel, Merwede, Hollandsdiep are my favorite rivers. Also when I go to other countries I like to go to rivers: Po, Seine, Tisza, etc.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes:<\/b><\/i> Was sind Deine Lieblingsmethoden auf Zander?
\nWillem: <\/b>Casting with light weights i love. With 2.00 <> 2.10 rods with MH action and 10\/00 max 13\/00 braided lines. Weights from 7 till 14 grams. But also one of my favorite fishing is casting cranks on rivers between 1 and 4 meters of depth. I love this a lot. And catching al predators, too.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Womit und wann f\u00e4ngst Du die gr\u00f6\u00dften Zander?
\nWillem: <\/b>I caught my biggest Zander with normal shads. My best day was 101, 103 and 96 all with a normal shad. Naturally pelagic fishing is specific for bigger Zander a very good method, but I like to cast. And to be honest, there is not only one method that catch big fish.<\/i>
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

Johannes: Hast Du Lieblingsk\u00f6der f\u00fcr Zander?
\nWillem: <\/b>6 and 7 inch V tail shads \u2013 and also dropshot with deadbait.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Wie sieht es mit Barschen aus? Sind die nur Beifang, oder geht ihr gezielt auf Barsche los?
\nWillem:<\/b>I love to go fort he big perch on rivers with cranks and shads. There are much more techniques like drop shot, Carolina rigs, etc., but cranks and small shads are my favorite. Sometimes it is very hard, and then only one good size Perch is enough to give me a good feeling. Sometimes hard fishing is just as nice compared with those moments when they are feeding.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Wann ist die Barsch-Haupt-Saison?
\nWillem<\/b>: <\/b>Best period is end oft he summer and febr march. <\/i>But during the year they are catchable.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes:<\/b> Wie viele 50er hast Du dieses Jahr gefangen?
\nWillem: <\/b>Sorry, but i do not know this by numbers. Every year I catch 50er \u2013 always a few and sometimes more then 20. But exact numbers I do not know. But, a 49 cm Perch or a 99 cm Zander are both beautiful creatures. A few mm more or less is not important, it is the experience and the moment that counts.<\/i>

\nJohannes:<\/b> W\u00fcrdest Du Deine Lieblingsgew\u00e4sser f\u00fcr Barsch und Zander verraten?
\nWillem:<\/b><\/i> Rijn, Waal, Ijssel, Merwede, Hollandsdiep are my favorite rivers.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes:<\/b> Wie sieht es mit Hechten aus? Beangelst Du die gezielt?
\nWillem: <\/b>Yaaaaaa, like to do this too! All kind of techniques are so nice. The only technique I\u2019m not using or very seldom is trolling. But from a fireball rigges with a big fish, shads, swimbaits, jerks, spinnerbaits\u2026 I do not have time enough in one life to enjoy it all.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Ich habe auch schon viele Rapfenbilder mit Dir gesehen. Was ist da Dein Top-K\u00f6der?
\nWillem:<\/b><\/i> Owww, Long Cast Minow Rapala, DT 4, 6 Rapala, Storm Thundercrank.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Ich bin ja total neidisch, dass ihr Wolfsbarsche bei euch fangen k\u00f6nnt. Hast Du f\u00fcr die Zeit und wenn ja: Wann f\u00e4ngst Du denn am besten?
\nWillem: <\/b>Yaaa Those are great species. Like to cast with light weight too, Also with cranks, but more aggressive fishing.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Legst Du Wert auf die Mondphasen? Spielen sie bei Zander UND Barsch UND Hecht eine Rolle?
\nWillem: <\/b>No, just go fishing and not make it to complicated. Animals and humans need to feed daily. When I always watch the moon and I know I could be bad, then my fishing day is ruined. Just go out there and experience all what nature has to offer <\/i>us. Fishing is not sience\u2026<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Wie sieht es mit Luftdruck und Tide aus? Gibt\u2019s da Regeln f\u00fcr eure Gew\u00e4sser und die Fische darin?
\nWillem: <\/b>Both air pressure and Tide have their impact on fishing. But again, go out there and try to catch even when its hard. It gives me personally a good feeling when I can trigger some predators. It is about finding the right moment, spot and button to push them to attack my lure. <\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes: <\/b>Was ist mit Streetfishing? Sieht man den Willem auch mal in der City vom Ufer angeln?
\nWillem: <\/b>Yaaaaa, nice. I was born in Rotterdam and did this already when I was young. It then was just \u2018predator fishing\u2019 \u2013 and nowadays called ‚Street Fishing‘! So, another name for the same fishing. Fishing was during growing up a art of my live. I was always fishing after school \u2013 and in Rotterdam there are a lot of harbors were you could find me. <\/i>I like it\u2026<\/i>

\nJohannes:<\/b> Was ist denn die beste Stadt in Holland, wenn man es vom Ufer versuchen will?
\nWillem: <\/b>Pffff, ther is not just one city, but Rotterdam and Amsterdam has some nice horbours. But fishing in shallow water for pike in the field can also be heaven.<\/i>

\nJohannes:<\/b> Du bietest ja Guidings an. Wie verteilt sich das? Hast Du mehr einheimische oder mehr deutsche G\u00e4ste?
\nWillem:<\/b> Form Russia, England, Germany, Sweden, Holland\u2026 65% out of Holland.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes:<\/b> Was kostet so ein Angeltag mit Willem Stolk?
\nWillem: <\/b>\u20ac 300 per two persons including licenses, and the latest Shimano tackle. Three persons is also possible and cost 75 euro more. I can arrange also bigger groups with other boats. My 20 ft Lund with 200 HP and the latest technology is part of it.<\/i><\/p>\n

Johannes:<\/b> Was ist Deine Lieblingsband?
\nWillem: <\/b>MMMMmmmmm. Not just one, but i like Dance, Rock, Blues\u2026 Like predator fishing more then just one\u2026<\/i><\/p>\n
